Wired Alarms

Many security installers still rely heavily on wired security systems because of the reliability, but many companies rely on hard-wired security equipment simply because their installation methods are outdated.

What are the advantages of hard-wired security?
For over a century, security installation has been using wires to relay system information from security devices to the control panel. Wired security installations offer the stability of 100 years of development, while wireless devices are still a new phenomenon in comparison, and are still rapidly improving.

What are the disadvantages of hard-wired security?
Wired alarm systems still have their pit-falls. Wires are usually run in attics and walls, so rats and mice commonly chew through them. They are also going to cost more to install and service because wire-running (cabling) is time-consuming.
